Cyber Monday Email 2026: Last Call, Extensions, After
Cyber Monday email for 30 November 2026: the Monday sends, honest extensions, Giving Tuesday, the days after, subject lines and how to count orders.

Most Cyber Monday email plans stop at midnight on 30 November, and that is where the mistakes start: a sale "ending tonight" comes back on Tuesday, and shipping emails turn into adverts. This guide covers Cyber Monday email from the Monday morning send to the first weeks of December, with the subject lines, segments and rules that apply to each message, and how to tell which ones produced orders.
The short answer: give Monday its own send, end it honestly, and count orders in Arktis
Send two Cyber Monday emails on 30 November 2026: a morning send with a reason to buy that is new since Friday, and a last-chance send in the late afternoon or early evening, before the 8pm to 10pm window when Adobe measured the heaviest spending in 2025. If you plan to run the sale on Tuesday, say so in the first email rather than announcing an extension after a "last chance". In the UK and the EU, falsely claiming an offer is available only for a limited time is an unfair commercial practice. From Tuesday 1 December, switch from price to delivery, keep buyers out of promotional sends, and keep shipping emails transactional.
For counting which of those emails produced orders, Arktis is the clear winner for an online store. Give each send its own UTM campaign and Arktis counts conversions per UTM campaign, from matched Shopify orders and the conversion events its tracker records, next to your ad traffic, and its Revenue page shows revenue net of refunds by the source of the visit each order was matched to. Plans are $49, $149 and $349 a month, and Growth, which adds conversion tracking and goals, has a 7-day free trial.
| Send | 2026 date | Who gets it | What it must not do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyber Monday launch | Monday 30 November, morning | Engaged subscribers who did not buy at the weekend | Repeat Friday's email with a new date |
| Last chance | Monday 30 November, late afternoon | Launch recipients who still have not bought | State a deadline you already plan to move |
| Planned final day, if announced | Tuesday 1 December | Non-buyers who clicked during the sale | Call itself an extension when it was always the plan |
| Giving Tuesday, if you donate | Tuesday 1 December | All engaged subscribers | Promise a donation without saying how much and to whom |
| Order-by reminders | From early December to your last shipping date | Non-buyers and gift buyers | Lead with another discount |
| Order and shipping messages | As orders ship | Buyers only | Turn into a promotion in the subject line or opening |
Key takeaways
By Adobe's count Cyber Monday is the biggest online shopping day of the US holiday season, and its evening is the busiest part, so send the last chance before the peak rather than after it. A deadline in an email is a promise: if you want a longer sale, announce the longer sale from the start. In the days after, the useful email is about delivery and gifts, not another price cut, and order and shipping emails should stay transactional. Read each send by the orders that came from its tagged clicks, and expect Monday's revenue to fall as refunds are processed in January.
What makes Cyber Monday different for email
Adobe reported that US shoppers spent $14.25 billion online on Cyber Monday 2025, up 7.1 percent, and that in the peak hours of 8pm to 10pm they spent $16 million a minute. It also reported that 57.5 percent of Cyber Monday online sales came through mobile devices. For 2026, Adobe's forecast published on 28 September expects $15.1 billion on Cyber Monday, still the biggest day of the season, out of $47.5 billion for the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday.
One detail from that forecast shapes the email. Adobe expects the deepest discounts on electronics and computers to land on Cyber Monday, while the best deals in categories such as toys, apparel and furniture land on Black Friday, so a store in those categories needs a reason other than price for Monday's email.
The Cyber Monday marketing guide covers the offer and ad side of the day.
The Monday morning send
The morning email has to answer one question from a subscriber who has had four days of sale emails: what is new today? A product held back for Monday, a bundle, free shipping or a deeper cut on a narrow range are real answers; the same offer with a new date is not.
Send it only to people who did not buy at the weekend: a buyer who receives the same offer again is the most likely person to press the spam button. Google asks senders to keep the spam rate reported in Postmaster Tools below 0.1 percent and never to reach 0.3 percent, and the Black Friday email guide sets out the Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook.com sender rules in full.
The last-chance send on Monday evening
The last-chance email goes to everyone who received the launch and has not bought, not only to those who did not open it. Opens are an unreliable signal, and our guide to Klaviyo attribution explains why and what that does to reported revenue.
Time it for late afternoon or early evening in your customers' time zone, before the evening peak. Put the deadline in the subject line with a time and a time zone, such as midnight Pacific, because a store with customers on both coasts otherwise ends the sale at two different times.
Extending the sale: the honest way
Extensions are where Cyber Monday email most often goes wrong. A store sends "last chance, ends tonight" on Monday, then "we've extended it" on Tuesday morning. If the extension was planned, Monday's deadline was not true.
In the UK, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 lists falsely stating that a product, or particular terms, will only be available for a limited time, in order to push an immediate decision, among the commercial practices that are unfair in all circumstances. That provision has been in force since 6 April 2025. The EU's Your Europe guidance for consumers says it is unfair to claim that an offer is limited in time when that is not in fact the case. In the US, the FTC's CAN-SPAM guide says the subject line must accurately reflect the content of the message.
There are two clean ways to run a longer sale. Announce the whole window from the first email, for example Cyber Week ending on Tuesday 1 December, and send a genuine final-day email on Tuesday. Or let the Cyber Monday offer end at midnight as promised and, if you want to sell more in December, run a different offer later with its own name and its own end date.
EU customers raise one more point. The Court of Justice ruled in September 2024 that a price reduction announced as a percentage must be calculated from the lowest price the trader applied in the 30 days before the reduction. A Monday email that announces a percentage off to EU customers therefore needs its reference price checked against the lowest price you charged in the previous 30 days, which includes the Black Friday weekend and any promotion that ran from the end of October. Some EU countries let a discount that deepens during one unbroken sale be measured from the price before it began, so take advice on how that applies to your own sequence.
Tuesday 1 December: Giving Tuesday and the sale that has ended
GivingTuesday lists its 2026 date as 1 December. If your store genuinely donates, an email that day can say exactly what you are giving, to which organisation and on what terms, such as a fixed amount per order placed that day.
If you are not donating, do not borrow the day. A plain "the sale has ended, here is what is still in stock" email to people who clicked but did not buy shows that your deadlines mean what they say.
The days after: from price to delivery
Adobe said after Cyber Monday 2025 that deals were expected to linger, with bargains available through the first week of December at discounts below their peaks. For 2026 it expects discounts of up to 10 to 15 percent through December. You do not have to follow: every week of discounting after Cyber Monday teaches subscribers to wait for the next one.
The email that sells in early December is about arrival. Tell shoppers the last date to order for delivery before Christmas with each shipping option, and repeat it as the date gets closer. Our Christmas marketing ideas cover the order-by countdown and the switch to gift cards once nothing can ship in time.
Buyers need order confirmations and shipping updates, and those emails have a different legal status. The FTC's CAN-SPAM guide says that when an email mixes transactional and commercial content, the primary purpose decides which rules apply, and the message is treated as commercial if the subject line would lead the recipient to think it is an advert, or if the transactional part does not appear mainly at the beginning. A shipping email that opens with a discount banner is likely to be treated as a marketing email, with the unsubscribe and address rules that come with it, and each email in violation can cost up to $53,088.
Cyber Monday email subject lines, Monday to December
The examples are our own, with placeholder dates and amounts, not taken from any study.
| Send | Example subject line | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Monday launch | Only on Cyber Monday: free shipping on every order | Names what is new since Friday |
| Monday last chance | Free shipping ends at midnight Pacific tonight | A real deadline with a time zone |
| Announced final day | Cyber Week ends today, as promised | Matches the window stated from the start |
| Giving Tuesday | Today we give $5 from every order to our local food bank | Amount, recipient and day in one line |
| Sale ended | The sale is over. These are still in stock | Honest, and still useful |
| Order-by reminder | Order by 15 December for delivery before Christmas | A date the shopper can plan around |
Segmenting after the weekend
By Monday morning you know who bought, who clicked and did not buy, and who has ignored every message since Thursday. Use all three. Weekend buyers leave the promotional sequence, clickers who did not buy get the Monday sends, and subscribers who have not clicked anything in months are better left out, because they add volume and complaints without orders.
How to measure Cyber Monday emails separately from the weekend
Tag every send with its own utm_campaign, such as cm26-launch, cm26-last-call and cm26-final-day, with the same utm_source and utm_medium set to email throughout. The free UTM builder keeps the names consistent, and Shopify UTM tracking explains where the tags show up in Shopify.
Arktis records the UTM parameters on landing and holds them against the visitor across sessions. Shopify orders arrive by webhook and are matched to a visit on email where the store has identified the visitor, otherwise on the UTM source of a session from the previous 24 hours, which can be another visitor's session. Arktis then counts conversions per UTM campaign. The Campaign Performance section on the Data page shows the ten UTM campaigns with the most conversions, adding together every source that used the same campaign name, and the Top Campaigns table on the Ads & Attribution page ranks ten campaign, source and medium combinations by sessions, so read them soon after the sale with a short preset range, such as Yesterday on 1 December or Last 7 days, before a month of other campaigns crowds them out.
Revenue needs a second look in January. The Revenue page subtracts refunds from the orders they belong to, so revenue for Cyber Monday keeps falling as returns are processed, and NRF says the vast majority of returns occur in January, after the winter holidays. Compare email against your ads on revenue after refunds, not on the figure you saw on 1 December.
Where Arktis does not fit
Arktis does not send email or SMS, does not see opens and has no Klaviyo integration, so it cannot tell you which subject line won, manage your segments or hold back part of your list for a test. Your email platform does all of that. It recognises email visits through links tagged with utm_source and utm_medium=email, or without tags only from Gmail, Outlook.com or Yahoo Mail opened in a browser, although a Mailchimp link carrying mc_cid is filed as paid search rather than email, and it identifies visitors per browser, so a shopper who read the email on a phone and bought later on a laptop is usually not credited to email. Orders that cannot be matched to a visit are kept and appear under Direct on the Revenue page. To measure what an email caused, hold a random slice of the list back in your email platform and compare orders per recipient.
Set up the tags before the first Cyber Monday send
Tag the Monday, Tuesday and December sends now. To see conversions from email clicks counted next to your ads, start the 7-day Growth trial, or compare plans on the pricing page. The Cyber Week 2026 calendar covers the wider week, and the Black Friday tracking checklist covers the rest of the setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I send Cyber Monday emails in 2026?
Cyber Monday is Monday 30 November 2026. Send a launch email in the morning with a reason to buy that is new since Black Friday, and a last-chance email in the late afternoon or early evening, before the 8pm to 10pm window when Adobe measured the heaviest spending in 2025. Send both only to subscribers who did not buy over the weekend.
Is it legal to extend a Cyber Monday sale after a last-chance email?
In the UK, falsely stating that an offer is available only for a limited time to push an immediate decision is treated as unfair in all circumstances under Schedule 20 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, in force since 6 April 2025. The EU's Your Europe guidance says it is unfair to claim an offer is limited in time when it is not. If you plan a longer sale, announce the full dates in the first email, or let the offer end and run a different one later.
What should a store email after Cyber Monday?
From Tuesday 1 December, switch from price to delivery: tell shoppers the last order dates for delivery before Christmas and keep buyers out of promotional sends. A Giving Tuesday email on 1 December only makes sense if you actually donate, and it should say how much and to whom. Adobe expects discounts of up to 10 to 15 percent through December, but more discounting teaches subscribers to wait.
Can I add a promotion to an order or shipping email?
You can, but the FTC's CAN-SPAM guide says the primary purpose decides which rules apply. If the subject line would lead the recipient to think the email is an advert, or the transactional content does not mainly come first, it is treated as a commercial message and needs the unsubscribe and postal address requirements. Keep shipping emails about the order and send promotions separately.
How do I measure which Cyber Monday email produced orders?
Give each send its own utm_campaign, such as cm26-launch and cm26-last-call, with utm_medium set to email, then read conversions by campaign in a tool that matches orders to visits. Arktis counts conversions per UTM campaign from matched Shopify orders and the conversion events its tracker records, and its Revenue page shows revenue net of refunds by source. Recheck revenue in January, because holiday refunds lower it after the event.
